Product Overview
Rockwool Sound Insulation Panels are mineral-wool panels intended to reduce sound passing through a wall, enclosure, or other separating element. The rock-wool core is denser than a light thermal-only fill and is built into a panel format for building and industrial use.
Typical locations include partitions between factories and offices, equipment rooms, studios, mechanical spaces, production lines, and technical partitions where airborne sound needs to be reduced before it reaches the adjoining space.
Key Advantages
50-80 kg/m³ Core Density
The specified rock-wool core density is 50-80 kg/m³. In partitions exposed to machinery noise, speech, or equipment-room sound, the denser fiber structure increases airflow resistance through the core and reduces direct airborne sound transmission through the insulated section.
Mineral-Fiber Damping of Airborne Noise
Rock wool absorbs part of the acoustic energy that enters its fiber network instead of reflecting all of it back into the assembly. In metal partitions and equipment enclosures with hard surfaces, this adds damping inside the panel cavity and reduces resonance.
Protected Acoustic Core
Steel facings keep the sound-control material enclosed rather than exposed. In industrial partitions, machine enclosures, and service corridors that see routine maintenance contact, the skins protect the mineral layer and help it stay in a consistent position across the panel area.

Steel Facing
Steel sheet thickness can be selected from 0.2 to 1.0 mm, including common 0.5 mm and 0.6 mm configurations.
Project Breakdown
Panel lengths, color combinations, and model mix can be produced from the approved elevation, partition schedule, or technical drawings.
Quality Control
- Rock-wool core material and steel facings are checked before production for material identity, core density, sheet thickness, and visible surface defects. Panel construction and dimensions are controlled in accordance with GB/T 23932. Production documentation and inspection handling are managed in accordance with ISO 9001.
- In-process checks cover core-density consistency, uniform filling, bond continuity, edge geometry, and face alignment. Crushed core, open internal voids, or incomplete bonding are grounds for removal before final inspection.
- Finished panels are tested for dimensions, flatness, bond integrity, and core density. Acoustic samples can be tested for the sound-insulation behavior of a specified configuration. A 100% final visual inspection is completed before packaging, and independent third-party inspection is accepted when required.
FAQ
Q: What payment terms are available?
A: Standard orders use 30% advance payment with the balance paid before pickup; made-to-order orders use 50% advance payment with the balance paid before pickup.
Q: Can you provide a sample of Rockwool Sound Insulation Panels?
A: Samples are available for selected products; freight is charged separately.
Q: Do small perimeter gaps reduce sound insulation?
A: Yes. Seal the panel perimeter and all service penetrations because an open gap allows sound to bypass the insulated panel section.
Q: Can the panels control vibration from rotating machinery?
A: They control airborne sound through the enclosure; structure-borne vibration should be handled separately with appropriate equipment mounts, pads, or isolation details.
